Health authorities in Gaza say 24,448 people have been killed since the October 7 attack

The father of a dead Israeli soldier said Hamas tried to sell his decapitated head for $10,000 in Gaza.

David Tahar, father of former Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Sergeant Adir Tahar, said Hamas abused the body of his son after he was killed during the terrorists’ October 7 attack on Israel.

David said that he received a body without a head. IDF officers did not want him to view his son’s butchered body, but he had insisted on seeing it.

It was only after he found a video posted to Telegram that provided him with answers as to what had happened to his son's head.

David said: "The terrorists, the barbarians, it’s too little to say for them, they beheaded him and took the head to Gaza...I did everything I could, it wasn’t easy, in the end, I got a body without a head.

"He was unrecognisable. I identified him by dog tags and a DNA test and things he had in his pants. The internet was flooded with horror videos.

"I must say that I saw almost everything, unfortunately, I found the video of my son, where you can see that my child is without this essential part of him.

"It’s insanely barbaric."

David told local Channel 14 that he received official word that Hamas had tried to sell his son’s head, advertising it as a soldier’s head for $10,000.

He added that Adir’s head was later found inside a freezer in Gaza, stashed inside a duffel bag with tennis balls and some documents.

He said: "[There were] documents of some terrorist and a soldier’s head. They managed to bring what was left after two-and-a-half months, it was probably abused there as well.

"We recovered the bones, what they found, tested DNA, also found teeth, and buried him...It is an obvious miracle in my eyes that I can give him peace of mind and body. What we are currently trying to do is to have a memorial for Adir."

Health authorities said Israeli actions in Gaza have killed 24,448 people since the October 7 attack.

According to Israeli tallies, 1,200 people were killed and 240 were abducted in the attack on Israel.

The conflict has driven most of Gaza's 2.3 million people from their homes and caused a humanitarian crisis, with food, fuel and medical supplies running low.

Head of the Palestine Investment Fund Mohammed Mustafa said: "If the war in Gaza continues, more people are likely to die of hunger or famine than war."
