An initial IDF investigation has suggested a failed Hamas rocket launch was the cause of the explosion
A strike on a hospital in Gaza has left dozens dead and hundreds more injured, the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry has said.
As many as 500 people are believed to be killed or injured as a result of the blast.
“We will get the details and update the public,” Hagari said.
“I don't know to say whether it was an Israeli air strike.”
Reports suggest it was the Al-Ahli Arabi Baptist Hospital that was struck.
“Hundreds of victims are still under the rubble,” the Gaza health minister said.
If confirmed, the hospital strike would be the deadliest Israeli airstrike since 2008.

An initial IDF investigation has suggested a failed Hamas rocket launch was the cause of the explosion.
Following the explosion, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared three days of mourning, according to state media.
Releasing a statement following the strike, Hamas condemned the blast as a “crime of genocide”.
“The horrific massacre carried out by the Zionist occupation in the Gaza City's Al Ahli Hospital which left hundreds of casualties, most of them displaced families, patients, children and women, is a crime of genocide that once again reveals the ugly face of this criminal enemy and its fascist and terrorist government,” the terrorist group said.
“This also exposes the American and Western support for this criminal occupation.”
Following the blast, protesters are reported to have stormed the Israeli embassy in Jordan.
Footage on social media shows the moment protesters charge down the road and fires burn in the streets.
The Jordan News Agency has said a group trying to breach the embassy were unsuccessful and were removed.
