France riots: AK47s fired into the air in terrifying footage

This is the moment AK47s were fired into the air in France as violent riots entered their third night.

Footage shared on social media appears to show the guns being shot into the sky as hundreds of French citizens took to the streets in protest at the fatal shooting of a teenager by police.

On Thursday night alone, 875 arrests were made as law enforcement desperately attempted to get a grip of the escalating riots.

Addressing the violence today, President Emmanuel Macron said the current situatino was "unacceptable and unjustifiable".

He accused protesters of "unacceptable exploitation of the adolescent's death".
