France has evacuated three airports after receiving bomb threats, according to local media.

Passengers in Lille, Toulouse and the business airport of Bron which is located near Lyon, were all forced out of terminals with those on incoming flights asked to remain sat on their planes.

A fourth alert was also issued to Nice airport, but passengers were allowed back into the terminal after a piece of abandoned at Terminal 1 was destroyed by authorities.

The French Civil Aviation Authority has ordered no planes to take off from Lille, Lyon and Toulouse.

Lille airport said on social media: "Lille airport being evacuated following a bomb threat. State security services are on site."

European countries have been on heightened alert for terror attacks after the fall out from the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Last week a teacher was murdered at a French school in a suspected Islamist attack.

France was place on its highest state of alert as a result of the horrific stabbing.

On Monday two people were killed and a third injured in a terror attack carried out in Belgium in the name of Isis.

Pro-Hamas activists in the Middle East have also carried out protests calling for "death to England and France".

Last night French President Emmanuel Macron warned "all European states are vulnerable" to attack.

"There is indeed a resurgence of Islamist terrorism," he added.

Talking about the Israel-Hamas war more broadly, Macron said: "My desire is to be able to travel there when we can obtain a concrete agreement either on non-escalation or on humanitarian issues and more broadly on everything.

"Israel's security, the fight against all terrorist groups, as well as the peace process and the political solution, are all interconnected.

"This is the agenda we need to rediscover."
