Emmanuel Macron has seen support for his centrist Renew coalition plunge as France prepares for a crunch election in June.
Renew is registering just 21 per cent support, with National Rally opening up a nine-point lead on 30 per cent.
Raphael Glucksmann has also made gains, with the Socialist Party obtaining 11 per cent.
It would appear Macron’s plan to reduce the threat from the populist Right is not working.

The French President hoped to highlight National Rally’s ideological agenda and the threat from Russia to win over voters.
The situation is also much worse for Macron than it was six months ago, when Renew was only five-points behind National Rally.
Renaissance’s Valerie Hayer appeared to seek to land an ideological blow against Marine Le Pen by comparing her to ex-Prime Minister Edouard Daladier.
The pre-war leader signed France’s 1938 Munich agreement with then-German Chancellor Adolf Hitler.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:She said: “It’s the same words, the same arguments, the same debates. We are in Munich in 1938.”
Renew MEP Marie-Pierre Vedrenne added: “In some of its behaviors, the National Rally acts as a spokesperson for Moscow.
“f we’d have listened to the National Rally, we’d have Frexit, Sputnik vaccines and we’d have supported Russia.”
However, the problem facing Europe’s establishment does not appear to have been confined to France.
Europe Elects' February projection puts hands centrist MEPs a net loss of 26, with Green MEPs also expecting to be reduced by 25.
Socialists are anticipating a collapse of 14 MEPs and Christian Democrats expect a net loss of one.
Left-wing MEPs could increase their faction by four MEPs and reformists on the right are expecting a 21 MEP boost.
However, the Identity and Democracy Group could also see an increase of around 19 MEPs.
