A gas cylinder exploded at a restaurant in the Czech Republic, setting the building on fire and leaving six people dead.
The propane-butane cylinder exploded at the building in the northwest city of Most, late on Saturday evening.
Eight people were injured, whilst 30 people were evacuated from the restaurant and surrounding buildings, emergency services said online.

“According to initial information from witnesses, a heater overturned, causing a fire,” the fire brigade said.
The fire began just before midnight, and it took over 60 firefighters working for an hour to get it under control.
The fire service said that twelve brigade units had been sent to the scene. They said that they rescued one person who was seriously injured who had been trapped in the bathroom.
Around 20 guests were in the restaurant at the time of the explosion, Czech Radio said.

Investigations into the potential cause of the fire have been launched, Czech Police confirmed.
A potential case of endangering public safety through negligence is being looked into.
“I want to express my sincere condolences to everyone affected by the tragedy and wish a speedy recovery to all those injured,” Interior Minister Vit Rakusan said.

He added that he had met with municipal and regional officials to discuss investigations.
Video footage of the explosion shows roaring flames consuming the building, whilst emergency services quickly rushed to the scene, sirens being heard in the background.
Glass from the restaurant’s windows could also be heard smashing as it hit the floor.
