Mark Carney's Liberals have won a shock election victory, just a month after he took over from Justin Trudeau as leader of the party.
The former Bank of England Governor only became Prime Minister in March, after defeating former Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland.
In an unexpected result, he has now beaten the leader of the Conservative Party Pierre Poilievre as well and will remain PM.
The Liberals are projected to win more of parliament's 343 seats than the Conservatives, but it is still unclear if they secured a majority, or whether they will have to negotiate with other parties to stay in power.

The Liberals looked to have been heading for a crushing defeat after three terms in power, until Donald Trump intervened and started attacking Canada's economy as well as threatening its sovereignty, suggesting it should become the 51st state.
The US President's actions infuriated Canadians and stoked a surge in nationalism that helped the Liberals flip the election narrative and win a fourth-straight term.
The Conservatives had hoped to make the election a referendum on former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whose popularity had fallen sharply by the end of his decade-long stint in power.
But Conservative leader, Pierre Poilievre, conceded that his party "didn't quite get over the finish line" tonight and that "change is needed but it's hard to come by".
He added that he will work with the government as Canada "stare[s] down tariffs and other irresponsible threats from President Trump".

He says he will work with the Prime Minister to put the tariffs "behind us while protecting our sovereignty and the Canadian people".
Carney also took to the stage to address his supporters in Ottawa, thanking his family and the people of Canada.
The 60-year-old said he has been warning for months that America "wants our land, our resources, our country".
He added: "President Trump is trying to break us so that America can own us, that will never ever happen.

"Our old relationship of integration with the US is now over. We are over the shock of the American betrayal, we have to take care of each other.
"This is Canada, we decide what happens here."
Carney revealed that he will meet with Trump in the coming days and the pair will "discuss the future of two sovereign and independent nations".
He explained that he plans to strengthen partnerships with countries in Europe and elsewhere too.
