Eleven people have been injured - of which four in serious condition - after a Boeing 737 skidded off an airport runway and its wing burst into flames.
The incident took place at Blaise Diagne Airport near the Senegalese capital of Dakar earlier today, with footage showing the Transair plane covered in fire-suppressing foam.
Flights have been suspended at the Blaise Diagne airport, an airport spokesperson has confirmed.
According to local reports, the Boeing jet was carrying 79 passengers, when a failed takeoff led to it hurtling off the tarmac and crashing into a bush.

Footage on social media shows a giant hole in the left engine of the plane, with passengers rushing to escape the inferno.
Emergency services rushed to evacuate the passengers, 11 of whom were injured, with four in serious condition, although no deaths have been reported.
Flights have been suspended at the airport.
Transport Minister El Malick Ndiaye said in a statement that the flight was heading to Bamako late on Wednesday, and had been carrying 79 passengers, two pilots and four cabin crew.

The injured are currently being treated while the other survivors have been taken to a hotel to rest.
Authorities are trying to establish the cause of the incident.
The airline is based in Blaise Diagne airport and operates domestic flights and international routes within West Africa.
