The killers, both from Wolverhampton, were convicted in June for murdering 19-year-old Shawn Seesahai

Knife crime campaigner and grandmother of murdered teen Liam Taylor has candidly opened up on GB News about her reaction to the “pathetic” sentencing of two 13-year-old machete murderers.

The two of them are Britain’s youngest knife murderers and they killed a stranger in a brutal machete attack when they were aged just 12.

The killers, both from Wolverhampton, were convicted in June for murdering 19-year-old Shawn Seesahai, who was stabbed in the heart and suffered a skull fracture on the city’s Stowlawn playing fields on November 13 last year.

Speaking on GB News, Julie Taylor hit out at the pair’s life sentences with a minimum term of eight-and-a-half years.

“They are pathetic”, she said.

“It’s absolutely ridiculous. These two will come out from wherever they are with their whole lives ahead of them.

“They knew right from wrong. I tend not to try and listen to things because it’s just too much.

“I sat and cried before I came on this afternoon. They are just 12-years-old. It’s just horrendous.”

Taylor said the incident harked back memories of her grandson, adding that she feels the justice system is always weighted in favour of the perpetrators.

“It always is and it always has done. Every family I have spoken to says that”, she said.

“We need to set new guidelines and set examples. It’s heartbreaking to listen to it every day.

“Please, let’s get education in schools from seven-years-old.”

The candid admission from Julie Taylor appeared to prompt an emotional reaction from GB News star Martin Daubney.

The judge told the boys: “When you killed Shawn he was 19, starting out in his adult life with everything to live for.

“His parents have lost their son. His sister has lost her brother.

“What you did is horrific and shocking. You did not know Shawn, he was a stranger to you. You both killed Shawn in an attack that lasted less than a minute when he asked you to move (from a bench).

“I am sure you intended to kill him.”

The judge added she could not be sure which of the boys had inflicted a 23cm-deep wound which almost passed all the way through Seesahai’s body.
