A father-of-four has died after being attacked outside a Wetherspoons pub in Newcastle, with two men in their twenties being arrested in connection with the incident.
Darren Tulip, 43, suffered serious injuries outside the Mile Castle pub on Grainger Street last Thursday evening.

Emergency services treated the 43-year-old at the scene before he was taken to hospital.
Chloe Louise Tulip, who is organising the fundraiser, said the family received "a phone call that would devastate all of our lives" on March 20.
"Darren took his last breaths surrounded by people that adored him and grew his wings on Wednesday, March 25, 2025," she said.
The 43-year-old leaves behind "four babies, a devastated girlfriend and a heart broken family as well as so many friends", Chloe added.
Detective Chief Inspector Tomasz Fowler of Northumbria Police said: "Firstly, we'd like to say that our thoughts are firmly with the family and loved ones of Darren who has sadly died."

"Specially trained officers continue to support his next of kin at what must be an extremely difficult time for them," he added.
Police confirmed their investigation into the circumstances of how Tulip sustained his injuries continues.
"Several lines of enquiry have already been carried out," DCI Fowler said, urging anyone with information who has not yet come forward to contact police.
The GoFundMe page set up by the family describes Darren as someone who "loved to party".
"We all know how loud Darren was and how much he loved to party, he'd want the biggest send off with everyone there," the fundraising page says.

But the family acknowledged that "funerals aren't cheap" and appealed for donations.
"Even a pound would be appreciated and a massive help to give him the best send off and for his four kids that now have to grow up without their dad because of someone else's actions," they wrote.
The family encouraged people to "treat him to his final pint" as they aim to give him a fitting farewell.
"Let's give him the send off he deserves," the tribute concluded.
Police have not released further details about the two men arrested in connection with the incident.
