Walsall Council

Walsall Council has announced that the rubbish in Darlaston will be removed gradually throughout the week as it attempts to combat several similar incidents in the area.

The councillors appealed for further information from witnesses, adding that anyone with extra information which leads to a prosecution will be offered a reward of £500.

A Walsall Council spokesman said: "The rubbish is scheduled to be removed this week."

Meanwhile, the locals continue to be scandalised by the flytipper’s actions, with one enraged resident saying: "If you know who these people are, or recognise the registration number, report them!"

STOP TRASHING BRITAIN:

One Facebook user, Elyse Turner, commented: "Imagine being a grown adult and actually throwing rubbish around and expecting a real adult to come and clean it up for you.

"It makes me sick. Absolute waste of oxygen."

A previous comment from Walsall Council leader Garry Perry declared that he was "shocked and appalled" by the audacity of the perpetrators.

He added that those responsible must "prepare to face the consequences" of their actions.

Perry said: "I am shocked and appalled by the brazenness of these fly-tippers. It is unacceptable that they treat our borough as a dumping ground.

"Our teams work diligently to maintain the cleanliness of our borough, yet due to the negligence of these individuals, our communities are continually affected. This situation is simply unacceptable.

"I firmly uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards fly-tipping. If you are responsible for this crime, be prepared to face the consequences. Rest assured, enforcement actions are underway."
