Labour's relationship with elderly voters has come under strain following revelations from the Department for Work and Pensions that up to 100,000 additional pensioners could be pushed into poverty due to winter fuel cuts.
Speaking to GB News, John Gearing said: "Labour has pick the wrong people to have an argument with, the elderly and the farmers. People won't forget this.
"They're in trouble. And this won't be forgotten over the next four years. I would suspect they're going to be in trouble when it comes to the next election in five years time."
