Three Israeli hostages have been successfully released by Hamas following the Gaza ceasefire, with footage showing their transfer to Israeli Defense Forces via Red Cross vehicles.

Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, and Doron Steinbrecher were handed over after 4pm local time, marking the first hostage release under the new ceasefire agreement.

The release came after a brief delay to the ceasefire's start, which eventually began after 11.15 am local time on Sunday.

The three women had been held in Gaza since Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
