The National Children's Hospice Grant, which provides £25m to hospices across the country, is set to end this year

A grandmother has shared how Noah's Ark Children's Hospice has been a vital lifeline for her family since 2008.

Rose, whose daughter Sophie receives care at the hospice, praised its comprehensive support across practical, medical, social and emotional needs.

The facility holds particular significance for Rose's family, as her son Ben, who sadly passed away in 2014, had the same condition as Sophie, known as step one.

"I don't know what we'd do without them, really," Rose told GB News, highlighting the hospice's well-equipped facilities and therapy services.

The family has benefited from various experiences, including holidays at the hospice's lodge and specialised therapies for Sophie.

The vital support provided by children's hospices comes as the sector faces funding challenges.

The National Children's Hospice Grant, which provides £25m to hospices across the country, is set to end this year.

Last month, Health Secretary Wes Streeting pledged that hospices would receive assistance to manage rising National Insurance costs and reduced government funding.

The Department of Health and Social Care has indicated that funding arrangements for hospices in the coming year will be announced in due course.
