Trump hit out at Zelensky

A heated clash erupted on GB News as broadcaster Nina Myskow branded Donald Trump an "absolute dictator" during a fierce debate about his leadership style.

"It's horrendous watching two dictators," Myskow said, referring to Trump and Putin. "Can you imagine anything being done in the government he has not dictated on?"

The broadcaster further emphasised her point, stating: "He's an absolute dictator, with all intents and purposes. Everyone bends to his will."

Publican Adam Brooks offered a contrasting view, partially agreeing with Myskow but arguing that Trump's commanding presence stems from being a "strong leader" rather than dictatorial tendencies.

The exchange grew more intense as host Patrick Christys suggested Trump's election victory legitimised his actions, whilst Myskow maintained her criticism of what she described as his "narcissistic" behaviour.

Trump's contentious stance on Ukraine was further highlighted during a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort, where he questioned President Zelensky's leadership.

The US president claimed Zelensky's approval rating had dropped to just four per cent and called for new elections in Ukraine.

"We have a situation where we haven't had elections in Ukraine, where we essentially have martial law," Trump said at the Florida press conference.

He dismissed Ukrainian concerns about being excluded from peace talks in Saudi Arabia, stating: "They've had a seat for three years."

The claim about Zelensky's approval ratings was swiftly challenged by experts, including Tymofiy Mylovanov, president of the Kyiv School of Economics, who disputed its accuracy.

Trump sparked additional controversy by suggesting Ukraine "should never have started" the conflict, despite Russia being the invading force.

During the GB News debate, Myskow raised concerns about Trump's recent Pentagon budget decisions, questioning his motives.

"Donald Trump has just announced they're cutting Pentagon finances by eight per cent, why is he doing that? Has he got a deal with Putin?", she asked.

The broadcaster warned that "Putin is laughing up his sleeve," suggesting a concerning relationship between the two leaders.

Brooks defended Trump's recent criticisms of Zelensky, saying: "When you do that to someone who has basically stopped you being invaded by another country, that is going to get your back up."

Trump later indicated he was "more confident" about reaching a peace deal following discussions in Saudi Arabia, which included US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian diplomat Sergey Lavrov.

The US president also expressed openness to European peacekeeping troops in Ukraine, calling it a "beautiful gesture," despite Lavrov declaring such presence "completely unacceptable."
