An energy deal between the US and UK could be on the cards, according to the founder of a multi-billion dollar US oil company.
Harold Hamm, Chairman And CEO of Continental Resources, claims the "energy renaissance" which has been created in America could benefit Britain.
Speaking to GB News, the oil and gas pioneer explained that the US had enough energy to help supply the UK and that deal should be done.
Hamm said: "It certainly could and it should happen. There should be an energy deal between those countries.

"You know, the good thing about it is we've managed to supply a lot of our allies."
He added: "All the propaganda that Russia put out about the natural gas supply, the amount of gas they had and everything they planned to do - who knew that they could weaponise that?
"They used that as a weapon. But it's too bad, I think that one thing that Americans are recognised for is a strong rule of law.
"We're much like you, we have a strong rule of law. You make a deal with this, we stick with it. And and that's the way it is, so here you could make a deal that you knew would be stuck with. You stick with it regardless."

Europe has since been seeking suppliers elsewhere.
But competition for supply is expected to surge due to Russia's ban - which will have a knock-on impact on Europe.
Hamm added: "We have a great thing that we've created here in America with the energy renaissance and what we've done with horizontal drilling and and made this all happen.

"Do we have enough energy to help supply your country? Absolutely and everybody is interested in long term.
"I heard all this on a panel on a LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) talk about the number of 20 year commitments that have been made by private companies all around the world.
"A lot of them is Europeans, you know Germany, England, you name it. We've seen the off take arrangements with LNG go from 40 to about 55 today.
"So that's the coming trend that's the future and it's not going to be made government to government, we don't need that. What we need to do is let the free market work and it's working."
