Former Clinton adviser Richard Goodstein has blasted Donald Trump and said that he "eats nothing but McDonald’s" after suggesting that Joe Biden is in better shape for a second presidential term.
Biden, at 81-years-old, is the country’s oldest-ever sitting president and his ability to carry out the job for another four years has been thrown into question after a series of blunders at public events.
However, Goodstein told GBN America that the leader is in better shape for the job than his Republican rival Donald Trump.
He also believes Biden faces little opposition for the Democrat nomination, despite suggestions other candidates like Michelle Obama have entered the frame.
Goodstein said: "I think that people who think that [Biden being replaced by another Democrat candidate] are watching too much Fox News.

"I've seen betting odds. I would love to put down money against the prospect of Michelle Obama or any other Democrat being the Democratic nominee. It will be Biden.
"I understand why people somehow have this fantasy, as there are frankly on the Republican side because of Trump's legal problems and his cognitive decline that they might be somebody else.
"I think if you talked to a doctor and looked at Biden's health, eating habits, history, exercise versus Trump doing nothing but eating McDonald's and not moving his body other than sitting in a golf cart.
"I think that an expert would tell you they would put better odds on Biden functioning quite well at the end of the next four years than Trump."

Alternatives to Biden include former First Lady Michelle Obama, but her office confirmed she will not be standing in Joe Biden’s way.
Her husband, Barack Obama, also confirmed he is “all in” for Biden’s re-election effort as he gears up for a probable rematch with 2020 election opponent Donald Trump.
In a statement to NBC News earlier this week, Michelle Obama reined in any prospect of her running for office.
“As former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president,” said Crystal Carson, director of communications for her office.

Goodstein told Patrick Christys: "A year ago at the State of the Address when the Republicans were taunting Biden, unscripted no notes. He made them look like fools.
"That is not what a demented person is capable of doing so people can make fun of him all they want but when the lights come on he is governing effectively."
Biden, along with Trump, appears no longer to have any barriers in his path to his party nomination.
Trump managed to rid himself this week of his last potential stumbling block, with Nikki Haley bowing out of the race after a chastening Super Tuesday.
