The former White House strategist expects a Trump victory in 2024

Tucker Carlson has a “tremendous” political future but he will not stand as Donald Trump’s running mate, Steve Bannon has claimed.

Trump’s former right hand man told GB News he expects the former president to emerge victorious at next year’s election, but will seek balance when appointing a running mate.

The former White House Chief Strategist spoke in glowing terms about Carlson’s future, saying he expects the former Fox News host to stand for presidency one day.

“I’m very close to Tucker, I think the world of him”, he said.

“I think his political future is tremendous. Trump is going to have a woman on the ticket as his Vice President.

“I think that is pretty obvious. Tucker has got an incredible future, 2028 and beyond.

“I strongly believe Tucker will be a candidate for president one day and I think he will be incredibly articulate, powerful and tough.”

Bannon said whoever does emerge victorious next year’s US election faces an uphill task as Joe Biden is currently overseeing a “crisis”.

He told GB News: “We’re in an economic and financial crisis.

“I know you’re seeing it in the UK and it’s only going to get worse. This has been exacerbated by these globalist policies of these people that report to Davos, the World Economic Forum.

‘It’s going to take very tough, very focused, very dedicated folks to turn this around.”

It comes as Americans remain unconvinced ahead of the next election, with the two likely candidates struggling to galvanise their bases.

Doubts linger over Joe Biden’s cognitive ability and his stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict has alienated younger sections of his voter base.

Trump on the other hand remains embroiled in a series of legal battles, but is still the overwhelming favourite to secure the Republican nomination.

Tucker Carlson has spoken out on rumours he will be on Trump’s 2024 card, telling the Roseann Barr Podcast he is “flattered” by the rumours.

The host has previously criticised Trump, but has thrown his weight behind him for the upcoming presidential contest.
