Governor Hochul, who ordered the National Guard mobilisation, told incoming migrants to ‘go somewhere else’

New York will bring in 150 members of the National Guard to help the city tackle the escalating migrant crisis, a democratic governor has announced.

As many as 100,000 migrants have been received into the city with around 10,000 arriving every month.

The 150 guards will be added to the 2,200 already deployed across the state to help control the surge in migrant numbers.

In a statement on Monday, Democratic New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced 250 members of the force will be assigned to full-time case management in a bid to tackle the backlog of paperwork.

The announcement comes just days after the Hochul U-turned on her opinion that New Yorkers should stop being “bigoted” and accept migrants.

On Thursday, she told incoming migrants to “go somewhere else” in an echo of New York Mayor Eric Adam’s speech earlier this month in which he warned the city could be “destroyed” by the crisis.

“If you’re going to leave your country, go somewhere else,” Hochul told CNN.

“We have to let the word out that when you come to New York, you’re not going to have more hotel rooms.

“We don’t have capacity, so we have to also message properly.”

It comes after former NYPD detective Bo Dietl called out New York Senator Chuck Schumer in an interview with GB News for standing aside while the migrant crisis escalates.

Senator Schumer has also warned the crisis will “destroy New York City” but claims the problem started “with a madman down in Texas” in reference to Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Schumer has denied being “missing in action” over the migrant crisis claiming he has been gathering funds to ease the burden on taxpayers.

“I have been working at the highest levels, delivering funds for New York,” the Senate majority leader told The New York Post.

“I’ve publicly pushed the administration to accelerate and expand work authorization.”

However, Dietl accused Schumer of standing by and failing to step in.

“This is the destruction of New York City and the destruction more so of this country,” Dietl told GB News.

“I'm calling out the Senator from New York, why don't you step up and let the Senate pass that bill that the House has now to close our borders?

“What's stopping you, Schumer? What is stopping you?

“You're destroying this city and you're destroying this country.

“And Schumer, I’ve known you a long time. You don't care about it.

“Maybe if one of your children or your relatives becomes a victim. Maybe you'll change.”
