A mystery metal monolith has sparked speculation after appearing in the Nevada desert.
The large mental object was suddenly erected in the Las Vegas wasteland and found by police on June 17.
Experts have been left baffled as to where and how the huge object appeared.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) share a picture of the bizarre discovery "near Gass Peak north of the valley".
Nobody has come forward to claim responsibility for the strange installation.
Following its discovery, the monolith has since been removed.
Authorities say that as the object is located off marked trails which means it could pose a risk to the public and local wildlife.
In a statement, the LVMPD said: "Yesterday afternoon, we assisted with the removal of the item due to public safety and environmental concerns.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
"It is being stored at an undisclosed location while public authorities determine the most appropriate way to dispose/store the item.
"It remains unknown how the item got to its location or who might be responsible.
"At this time, there is no LVMPD investigation into the object or the circumstances surrounding its existence."
Experts say that as monolith was located in the middle of a vast desert - where the temperature often rises above 100 degrees Fahrenheit - there is a risk of dehydration and heatstroke for visitors.
Following its discovery, the monolith has since been removed

It comes after a 10ft silver monolith mysteriously appeared on a Welsh hill in March this year.
The large mental object popped up on Hay Bluff near the town of Hay-on-Wye in Powys, Wales.
A number of monoliths have sprung up across the globe, including in the Isle of Wight and the Utah Desert.
