BLM Los Angeles co-founder accused all Taylor Swift fans of being "racists"

Michael Knowles says Taylor Swift is a "conservative figure" and a "representation of normal culture".

It comes as a Black Lives Matter co-founder claimed it is "racist" to like the pop star's music. On the day of the Super Bowl, Melina Abdullah tweeted: "'Why do I feel like it’s slightly racist to be a Taylor Swift fan?"

Swift has publicly shown her support for Joe Biden and the current president recently joked it's "classified" when asked whether he's part of a conspiracy between Swift and her Kansas City Chiefs' tight-end boyfriend Travis Kelce to win the November election.

Speaking to GBN America, Daily Wire host Knowles said: "I feel vindicated on the issue of Taylor and Travis because I've never consciously or intentionally tried to listen to a Taylor Swift song.

"Really, I don't pay much attention to most pop music.

"When I saw Taylor Swift I thought, this woman, no matter who she votes for, her disposition is the disposition of a conservative.

"She's temperamentally conservative. By this I mean that she's pretty, she sings about normal things like getting dumped. She's not covered in all sorts of crazy colours and a million face tattoos.

"And also she doesn't act out. She's not overly sexual. She's dating a football player, for goodness sake. This is as American as apple pie.

"I said, no matter which candidate she likes, she's basically a conservative figure. And a lot of the conservatives went on this rabbit trail, pretending that Taylor Swift had been assembled in some laboratory at Quantico or Langley by the CIA.

It just seems so crazy to me. I think in the broader world, Taylor Swift is seen as a representative of a kind of normal culture.

"The liberals don't like normal things. They like absurdity. They like fantasy. They like craziness and incongruity.

"But Taylor Swift? Even if she likes Biden? I'm sorry, my dear, you are publicly speaking, a right winger."

There have been numerous conspiracy theories about Swift's political stance

A popular conspiracy theory is that Swift is being used as a tool by the Pentagon to help Biden win re-election.

Another conspiracy theory is that Swift and Kelce aren’t a real couple; their relationship is just a show to boost Biden’s chances in the election.

Swift began speaking up politically in 2018 when she endorsed Phil Bredesen, a Democrat, in the Senate race against Republican candidate Marsha Blackburn, calling her “Trump in a wig”. She has also criticised Trump’s leadership as “ineffective”.

Swift endorsed the Biden-Kamala Harris combination in 2020, and lent her song ‘Only the Young’ for the campaign.

This angered many Republicans, who saw the endorsement as a desertion of her roots in country music.
