A leading American historian has described Joe Biden as one of the worst presidents in US history, in an exclusive interview with GB News.
Christopher Caldwell told this broadcaster that the ageing president is “probably” one of the worst in US history “but only because the country is going through a period now where it's very hard to really get things done and win the confidence of the American people”.
The American author and historian said: “With the partial exception of Barack Obama, the last four presidents have got very little done.”
“Biden has been very energetic. He's passed a lot of legislation.”

“He came out of the Covid emergency and passed an extra stimulus bill. He had a lot of Democratic interest groups behind them.”
He continued: “He was able to hold them together for two years and pass extremely expensive social spending and economic stimulus, particularly on green energy.”
“So far, he's stimulated the economy a lot, and he's kept his, he's kept his coalition together, which is good. But he's done it in such a way that he's kind of given hostages to fortune.”
“We have been totally reckless about our deficits and our debt, which now stands at $34 trillion.”

“This shows signs of maybe getting out of control.”
“And should it come to threaten the reserve currency, which is the privileged institution on which a lot of America's wealth rests, then Biden could be remembered as a very bad president indeed.”
The comments come after President Biden was seen freezing at an event celebrating Juneteenth, a day commemorated by many Democrats in the United States linked to the freeing of slaves in the 19th century.
Mr Biden’s gaffe was criticised by some, including Republicans Overseas UK spokesperson Jennifer Ewing, who told GB News: “It's very sad, it's clearly somebody in stages… of cognitive decline. He’s frozen, this is sad.”
“If the Democrats were honest they would say we need another candidate, this is elder abuse.”
Discussing Mr Biden’s cognitive decline, Mr Caldwell compared the president to Woodrow Wilson who suffered a stroke when he was in the White House.
“Well, I'd say the closest thing was in Woodrow Wilson's second term,” Mr Caldwell said.
“He had had a stroke, and he was largely incapacitated for the last couple of years of his presidency.”
“And, the country was run at first by his aide, Colonel House, but then by his wife, unbeknownst to the public.”
“So, yeah, it's, we have had this before, not that that makes it a good thing.”
Joe Biden’s campaign for re-election also suffered another setback following the conviction of his son Hunter over charges related to lying about drug consumption on a gun licence application.
Reacting to his son’s conviction, the President said in a statement: "As I said last week, I am the President, but I am also a Dad.
“Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today."
"So many families who have had loved ones battle addiction understand the feeling of pride seeing someone you love come out the other side and be so strong and resilient in recovery."
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign said: “This trial has been nothing more than a distraction from the real crimes of the Biden Crime Family, which has raked in tens of millions of dollars from China, Russia and Ukraine.”
“Crooked Joe Biden's reign over the Biden Family Criminal Empire is all coming to an end on November 5th, and never again will a Biden sell government access for personal profit."
