The Vice President was slammed over her U-turn on migration, changing her tune from a ‘come to America’ to saying ‘don't come’
Kamala Harris has been slammed for her handling of the migrant crisis as she “refuses to see issues” at the border.
GB News sat down with Americans For Prosperity Texas leader Genevieve Collins for a wide-ranging interview about the migrant crisis across the southern border.
When asked about the Biden administration’s current plans and their latest actions, Collins told the People’s Channel: “No one knows what the Biden administration is doing because they're absent.”
“You know, neither President Biden nor Vice President Kamala Harris, have visited the border. They haven't. Let me rephrase, they went to El Paso which is a very Democrat-held city. But El Paso has had a wall running through it since the 1990s.
“The massive influx of illegal immigration is not happening enough in El Paso. It's happening in Del Rio, Eagle Pass, McAllen, Brownsville. These are the areas in South Texas along the tip of the border that they refuse to go to.
“They refuse to see the issue and I think that that's playing out and how they're mandating policy, whether it's cutting razor wire, undermining Texas State laws, undermining federalism.
US LATEST:'No-one knows what the Biden administration is doing because they're absent,' said Collins.
PA“It's it's a real shame. And it's very sad to see that an administration is so partisan that they cannot stand for the state of Texas, which does have Democrat voters and cannot stand for the rule of law.”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott argues the Lone Star State has been particularly impacted and has demanded so-called “sanctuary cities” help share the burden.
In a bid to lighten the load on his state, Abbott has bused over 35,000 migrants to a number of cities.
When asked whether it was a mistake to have given Kamala Harris responsibility to deal with the migrant crisis, Collins said the Vice President was “not ready for it”.

“I mean during the entire campaign she said ‘we don't have an issue, we can't build a wall, We want people to come here’. Fast forward, they become elected. She takes office. Her first press conference in Central America she said ‘don't come’.
“Well, you just spent the last two years campaigning on ‘come to America’. And then your first conference you go to, you say ‘don't come’.
“It's like she doesn't even know what's happening and refuses to see the issues that are really happening, whether it's in Texas or New Mexico, she refuses to see.
“So I think it was a massive underestimation of her ability and clearly she's not ready for it.”
