Podcast giant Joe Rogan has expressed his relief at leaving California, claiming the US state has turned "fully communist”.
During a podcast chat this week, Rogan recalled how he was once in a “blue bubble” before the state went “nuts”.
He spoke to comedian Bobby Lee about how he previously identified more with left-wing politics, but now prefers to be seen as more of a centrist.
One of the main reasons he no longer identifies with the left is its “cultist” base, he said, arguing they “attack like somebody attacks religious beliefs”.
Joe Rogan has hit out at California

Hitting out at the state he used to live in, he said: “Their approach to law enforcement is so insane. It’s so insane.
“The no-cash bail, the letting people out for committing violent crimes, the not stopping people for stealing up to whatever money is, was it $900 now?
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
“I think they raised it. I think they made it a little higher.”
“San Francisco is nonexistent”, Rogan added. “San Francisco, most of San Francisco is emptied out of like big chain stores and big department stores.”
He argued that people on the left “excommunicate” those voicing concerns about men using transgender rules to infiltrate women’s facilities.
The podcast host moved from California to Texas in 2020 and opened a comedy club in Austin last year that bids to rally against cancel culture.

Rogan has surged to popularity thanks to his conversations with people from across the political spectrum on his Spotify podcast.
The 56-year-old has spoken out on trans issues before, claiming transgender athletes ‘would get murdered’ if they took part in UFC.
Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience in November, he spoke on the hypothetical scenario of UFC having “diversity”.
“Do you know what a problem that would be? If they had to have like a certain amount of trans folks…
"If you had numbers you had to achieve, it wasn’t the best fighters, it was just like who can meet certain criteria.
"There’s gonna be a bunch of people who get murdered."
The outspoken host added: “There’s gonna be a certain percentage of people who are there because they’re just awesome and a certain percentage of people that they have to hire in order to meet these DEI [diversity, equity, and inclusion] standards.
“Imagine if the U.K. had one representative that was supposed to be fighting Francis Ngannou, you have one person who’s supposed to step up and fight that guy and it says, ‘Well the right move is to send in a non-binary woman because they don’t get represented in the UFC.'"
But trans supporters on X vented their fury over his comments and taken aim at the American for his views on the subject.
"He also thinks it's physically impossible for humans to have built the pyramids... So...do with that information what you will," said one user.
A second stated: "Amazing we have an unfair advantage and should compete with men but at the same time we aren't strong enough and would die."
Another user said: "These idiots are unsure what will win out, their misogyny or their transphobia, I swear."
"That dude is completely full of s**t and his show is total garbage," ranted a fourth.
