The US has given Israel approximately $10billion to establish their Iron Dome missile defence system

A senior fellow at the Jewish Institute for National Security of America has warned that Joe Biden's "admirable" support for the Israel effort in their war against Hamas is "eroding".

Since the Hamas attacks on October 7, the US has been one of the strongest allies of Israel and has contributed around $130billion since its founding.

However, as pressures grow on the President to deal with domestic issues ahead of the Presidential election, John Hannah has warned that Biden's stance on Israel is changing.

The US is currently in a battle over its growing migrant crisis, as Biden is attempting to push through a border security bill, which will fund both efforts to block migrants and fund aid in Ukraine.

The bill would include $7billion in funding for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and senators claim it would make it more challenging for asylum seekers to stay in the US, closing certain catch-and-release loopholes.

Speaker Mike Johnson has previously condemned the bill and said the agreement is "even worse than we expected". He claimed it "won't come close to ending the border catastrophe".

In a discussion with GBN America, senior fellow at the Jewish Institute for National Security of America John Hannah said the Biden administration had four solid months of "magnificent and admirable" support for the Israeli Defence Forces, but is now waning.

Hannah added that Biden is facing pressure from an "opposing wing of the Democratic Party" who do not agree with Biden's involvement in the war.

Hannah told host Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg: "The Biden administration now for over four months, its support for Israel I think has been really quite magnificent and admirable.

"Although I think it's clear now that that the resolve to back Israel is eroding."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Hannah explained: "It's hard not to come to the conclusion that it has an awful lot to do with the President's own domestic politics as we approach our elections this November.

"He has a very activist and loud wing of the Democratic base, the progressive base that almost from the beginning has been extremely opposed to his position of unequivocal support for Israel after this near genocidal terrorist attack of October the 7th."

Hannah added: "Israel has the right, has the responsibility, has the absolute duty to see Hamas not only destroyed as a military organisation, but to have that Hamas regime, its governance in Gaza, eliminated as well."

Jacob asked Hannah for his thoughts on the West's support for the ongoing conflict, and Rees-Mogg admitted that the West "doesn't have the stomach" for the fight against Hamas.

Hannah told GBN America: "If you don't allow Israel to go to Rafael, you are essentially saying Hamas wins and Israel loses with extraordinary implications and ramifications for not only Israel and the Middle East going war with, but I think for the the interests of the of the entire West and the entire civilised world.

Jacob responded: "The West was so strongly in support of Israel immediately after these horrific, near genocidal attacks, but it doesn't like the fact that war is a messy, unpleasant, brutal business and that to win a war you have to use the means of war.

"And as Israel's done that, support for Israel has reduced not just in the United States but in other Western countries."
