Joe Biden's two-year-old German shepherd has bitten another member of the secret service - making it the 11th time it has struck.

A Secret Service spokesperson said the dog attacked the agent at the White House on Monday evening.

The Service's chief of communications, Anthony Guglielmi said the female officer required medical treatment on the site but is now "doing just fine".

It is the 11th attack by the dog, called Commander, in less than a year.

According to Elizabeth Alexander, a spokesperson for first lady Jill Biden, the White House can be a "stressful environment for pets".

She added: "The first family continues to work on ways to help Commander handle the often unpredictable nature of the White House grounds.

"The president and first lady are incredibly grateful to the Secret Service and Executive Residence staff for all they do to keep them, their family, and the country safe."

The dog attacks were publicly unveiled by the Department of Homeland Security in July.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

The Biden's have reportedly been working with the Secret Service and the White House residence staff "on additional leashing protocols and training" for the dog.

They have also created designated areas where he could run around for exercise.

During another incident on October, 26 2022, First Lady Jill Biden was unable to keep Commander under control, an email said.

Commander "came charging at me", the agent wrote in the email.

He has been moved out of the White House and now lives with Biden family friends.
