The Israel-Hamas war could prove to be a key issue in the 2024 US election with Jewish voters being a key voter group, according to a political expert.
It comes as Joe Biden continues to face mounting pressure over his stance on the conflict.
According to Lauren Wright from Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, the President is likely to hold firm due to the risk that calling for a ceasefire poses.
She says that while the Muslim voter base are frustrated with Biden’s stance, they have offered nothing but a “toothless threat” as they are unlikely to jump ship and support the Republicans.

The Jewish voter base however makes up a larger portion of the vote and are not as steadfast in their allegiance to a particular party.
“Jewish American voters have been trending more conservative in recent years”, she said.
“Still, about 70 per cent of them support Democrats consistently.
“Republicans happen to be much closer to Jewish voters on the issue of the war than Republicans are to the Muslim American on average.
“To put an exclamation point on that, the Israel-Hamas war is a top issue for Jewish voters.
“97 per cent of them in surveys say they are paying very close attention.”
The war has proven to be a test for Biden with many of America’s youth at odds with the US President.
Question marks are already being levelled at the president with some believing he is too old for another term.
At the age of 81, he is already the oldest ever serving US President.
A former aide for Barack Obama, David Axelrod, added his voice to those questioning the president.
According to Politico, an incensed Biden responded by branding Axelrod a “p***k”.
His team have repeatedly played down his age, with Biden himself opting to make fun of it.
