Disney is “hurting badly” as a result of its decision to wade into political matters, Julian Epstein has claimed.
The entertainment giant irked authorities in Florida by standing against a law branded the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill by its critics.
The law, introduced in 2022, sought to restrict discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in public schools.
As a result of Disney “bending the knee” to the “intersectional left”, the company has suffered reputational damage, according to Epstein.

“It hasn’t proven to be good politics and good business”, he said.
“Their stock has gone down up to 40 pr cent. Their market cap has gone down, according to some reports by over 50 per cent.
“The company is hurting badly right now and this has not helped at all.”
The Attorney added that Disney has “lost the debate” after taking up a “left political agenda”.
“It was a bill that was very popular in Florida, not just with Republicans but with many Democrats”, he said.
“Disney decided to wade in and oppose and end up losing the fight.

“Part of that ongoing controversy is seeing the Governor of Florida imposing rules that would crack down on the self-governance Disney has.
“Florida took it away and Disney claimed it was political retaliation. The Governor said that if Florida were going to be political actors, they’re certainly not going to get privileges from the state.
“Disney has been engaged in this fight and becoming the epitome of you go woke you go broke.
“Disney has lost according to some reports around 50 per cent of its market cap, they have become very politically active.”
The row moved into new grounds as Disney were stripped of its special self-governing status, giving DeSantis the ability to appoint a new tourist board with oversight of the area.
Despite being accused by Disney of a “campaign to weaponise government power”, DeSantis’s approval ratings showed his battle was received positively by voters.
44 per cent of Republican respondents in an April Reuters/Ipsos poll saying they had a more favourable view of him.
