The US president is under fire after a disappointing debate display against Donald Trump

The Democrats should avoid picking the “dangerous” Kamala Harris if Joe Biden decides against running for another term, according to American TV host Eric Bolling.

The US president is under fire after a disappointing debate display against Donald Trump last week with his approval ratings plummeting.

Speaking on GBN America, Bolling speculated on who we might see step into the fold.

“The odds on favourite seems to be Kamala Harris, but I think that’s a very dangerous choice because she’s very unpopular here”, he said.

“She’s about as unpopular as Joe Biden is here right now. I believe Michelle Obama will ultimately be the choice.

“She would ultimately be the toughest for President Trump to defeat because Gavin Newsom is very beatable. He’s got a horrendous record.

“Kamala Harris is very unpopular. When it comes to Michelle Obama, I think she will be top of the ticket and Barack Obama will be the vice presidential pick.”

The former Fox News host said the disastrous debate showing for Biden prompted a clear turning point.

He believes many media outlets who “protect” the US president turned their backs on him.

“I think we saw a real inflection point with the debate”, he said.

“The media left him. That was immediately after the debate, NBC News and CNN. When you lose them, the front line warriors of Joe Biden to participate in 2024, he was done.

“When you lose the media, you lose the donors, he has lost the party now as well.

“It’s just a matter of time when he announces it. He was allegedly speaking to Kamala Harris and he has finally come to the realisation that the time has come.

“I would say he doesn’t last through the weekend here.”

The US president laboured through his clash with Republican foe Trump last week where he repeatedly stumbled on his words.

Trump even accused Biden at one point of “not knowing what he is saying”.

The 81-year-old has acknowledged his poor performance and blamed a cold and lengthy travel.
