Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson sat down with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in a bombshell interview

Tucker Carlson has been defended by former Superman actor Dean Cain, as the Hollywood star hits out at the "censoring" of mainstream media.

Earlier this month, the former Fox News host flew into Moscow to sit down with Russian President Vladimir Putin for a landmark two hour interview.

Carlson pressed Putin on why he decided to invade Ukraine, and claimed a Russian defeat in the war is "impossible by definition".

The Russian premier also revealed he has "never refused" to negotiate a peace deal with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

He told Tucker Carlson that the war in Ukraine could be over in a "few weeks" if US President Joe Biden stopped supplying weapons.

The interview has garnered over 200 million views on Carlson's X platform, and has received both widespread praise and criticism.

Reacting to the interview, GBN America host Patrick Christys said one thing that "stood out" in the interview is the revelation that Putin "hadn't spoken to Joe Biden since the start of the war".

Patrick swiped: "That's clearly because Joe Biden can't actually talk to other world leaders, which is surely a massive danger."

Agreeing with Patrick, Superman actor Dean Cain said of the interview: "I'm so sick of getting my news filtered through NBC or through the main media that you've always seen, the old school media, they're they're always censoring and changing things. Tucker Carlson is a journalist and he wants to get to it.

"We believe in free speech here in the United States, so people should be able to speak. Even if there's someone like Vladimir Putin who is waging a war, what is his side of the story?"

Cain continued: "I always believe it's better to have more speech than less speech. Tucker Carlson believes the same, and he gave him a shot to say his words.

"Fox fired Tucker Carlson for whatever reason - I think that was a huge mistake."

Defending Carlson, Cain told GBN America that he "loves" Tucker and the interview has got him "hundreds of millions of views", which you "don't see in the mainstream media".

Cain stated: "It's the first time that most of us have seen Putin speak on something and get questions directly from a US reporter who asks some tough questions.

"It's clear that he's not used to having conversations with reporters that are going to ask him questions that he might not like. It was a really insightful, very interesting interview."

Patrick Christys agreed, adding: "I actually think he exposed a lot. People were saying it was so softball - firstly he's in the Kremlin.

"So with respect, there is a limit to how far you're going to be able to push a guy when you're sitting in his own backyard. But I thought it was revealing."
