Anthony Fauci was the face of America's response to the pandemic
Reuters“A lot of people will see this man as being responsible for pushing for masking of children at school and vaccine mandates.”
Republican Overseas UK spokesperson Jennifer Ewing joined Bev on GB News to discuss her highlights from the historic grilling.
“The real star I thought was the Republican Congressman from Georgia, Rich McCormick”, she said.
“He is a medical doctor himself who treated patients throughout the pandemic. They played something Fauci they said to the effect of, ‘it is proven that when we make people’s lives difficult, they will give up their ideological B.S and get vaccinated’.
“He basically said the six-feet rule had no science and masking children the same. They absolutely destroyed faith in America’s public health institutions.”
Fauci has been the subject of both praise and fierce criticism after becoming the face of the US Covid-19 response.
He was pressed on the origins of the virus, saying he “keeps an open mind” on the matter.
Fauci received some support from Democratic lawmakers on the subcommittee who suggested Republicans were making irresponsible claims.
"Over the past four years you have been personally targeted by extreme narratives of the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic and the US governments response to it," Democrat Representative Raul Ruiz said.
In a declassified report released last year, US intelligence agencies found no direct evidence that the virus broke out from a Chinese laboratory.
