Conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro has accused Joe Biden of helping to “fund Hamas” during his tenure as US President.
It comes after the Commander-in-Chief won praise from Republicans such as George Bush for his response to Hamas’s attack on Israel.
Speaking on GB News, Shapiro said Biden’s response to the conflict has been “what it ought to be”, but argued his past actions have helped contribute to the terror group’s rise.
Asked by Mark Dolan whether Biden is “equipped” to tackle the crisis, Shapiro responded by suggesting the US President is not in a sufficient position to “handle pretty much anything”.

“His response so far has been what it ought to be”, he added.
“He’s put two American aircraft carriers off the coast in the Mediterranean in an attempt to dissuade Hezbollah from firing on Israel and opening up a war on a second front.

“He is resupplying for Israel and speaking some nice words. It would have been nice if he hadn’t funded Iran to the tune of billions of dollars.
“He also funded Hamas via Palestinian aid in the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars over the course of his administration.
“That sort of weakness tends to lead to aggression in the Middle East, not to gratitude and reconciliation.”
Biden pledged to give Israel whatever it needs to respond to Hamas’s attack, while Secretary of State Antony Blinken has been touring across the Middle East to reaffirm its support for Israel.
Ben Shapiro has criticised Joe Biden
PBS/TwitterShapiro went on to criticise many showing support for Palestine, telling Mark Dolan that many are “conflating” support for the country and support for Palestine.
He added that the left are having “difficulty” in condemning Hamas’s attacks, suggesting those of that political persuasion have been “anti-Israel since the 1967 war”.
“The left has become a ‘coalition of dispossessed’, oriented against traditional institutions”, he said.
“And that holds true in America. It holds true in Britain. It holds true in Israel as well.
“The idea is that Israel is some sort of colonial outpost of Western civilisation and that it has ‘dispossessed the Palestinians’, and thus any sort of decolonisation effort up to and including the slaughter of innocent babies in their cribs is there is that's justified and that's sort of the justification that you're seeing these days.
“It's hideous and it's ugly, but unfortunately that is what you're seeing.”
It comes as UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak reaffirmed support for Jewish people potentially feeling intimidated as a result of pro-Palestine demonstrations.
Downing Street last week announced that £3million in extra funding will be given to provide the Jewish community with additional protection, with strengthened security at schools and synagogues.
