Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron has spoken out on the importance of Israel “dealing with the bottlenecks” and allowing aid into Gaza.
Cameron has urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to find a pathway to a “sustainable” ceasefire in Gaza.
The former British PM flew to Israel on Wednesday for talks where he raised concerns about the “high number of civilian casualties”.
He is set to visit Qatar next amid calls for pressure to be exerted on the country’s government to help secure the release of hostages taken by Hamas terrorists on October 7.
The gulf state previously brokered a deal that saw dozens freed in November.
“It’s vital we can actually get it [aid] into Gaza and crucially, once it’s in Gaza, get it around Gaza”, Cameron said.
“What I was saying yesterday to the Israelis is, they’ve got to deal with the bottlenecks.
“They’ve got to make sure the crossing points are open more often. They’ve got to make sure the checking is done more quickly.
“They’ve crucially got to give the visas to the UN staff and the trucks that the UN staff need to get the aid around Gaza.”
