A Briton who had his left arm and leg amputated after being hit by a Russian drone has hit out at the West for ‘appeasing’ Vladimir Putin.
Edward Scott, a British volunteer in Ukraine, was wounded when his vehicle got hit by a Kamikaze drone whilst he was evacuating citizens last month.
The 28-year-old took the majority of the blow and was rushed to hospital, where doctors were forced to amputate two of his limbs.
Scott, from Dorset, said that the attack was deliberate and the Russian military “could not possibly have confused us with military” due to the white and orange van they were driving.

“This was a war crime,” he told The Times, highlighting the military’s breach of the Geneva Convention.
Now, over two weeks on from the attack, Scott is appalled at Donald Trump’s reported negotiations with Putin over ending the war.
The 28-year-old told the publication: “This isn’t a peace deal, it’s Ukraine being forced to subjugate to an aggressor. Why should Ukraine be the ones who make concessions when they’re the ones who were invaded?
“And Russia won’t stop — there will be some kind of peace deal then a few years later they will do it again.”
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
“Ukraine is being straight-up abandoned and fed to the dogs.” He continued: “All the tens and thousands killed and wounded count for nothing.”
Trump told reporters yesterday that he will meet with Putin “very soon” to discuss the war in Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters in Florida, Trump said he was working hard to achieve peace, and said he believes both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky want to stop fighting.
It comes as the United States and Russia are preparing for initial talks in Saudi Arabia in the coming days.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said earlier today that Ukraine and Europe would be part of any “real negotiations” to end the war.
Ukraine has not yet been given a seat at the negotiation table, with Volodymyr Zelensky stating he will not accept any deals that do not involve the participation of Kyiv.
Scott began volunteering in Ukraine almost three years ago with BASE UA, an NGO which helps evacuate civilians from besieged areas and provide them with shelter.
Despite his injuries, the 28-year-old has said he wants to return to Ukraine once he is fitted with prosthetics. “Of course, it will be very different but I am too stubborn to be stopped,” he said.
