GB News’s Michelle Dewberry clashed with Novara Media’s Aaron Bastani in a lively GB News debate about the riots currently gripping Britain.
Another night of chaos is expected despite warnings from Sir Keir Starmer that those involved will face the full force of the law.
Speaking on Dewbs & Co, Bastani argued that those protesting would be better served looking to achieve political outcomes via democratic means.
“These people have in some cases thrown away their futures for absolutely nothing”, he argued.

“If you have a particular set of views on immigration or asylum, we have a democratic political system for that.
“Nigel Farage is an MP now, for goodness sake. That is the way to proceed.”

Michelle interjected: “Come off it. That would be a really fair point if what you were saying was actually honoured.
“If we had a democratic system where people had a viewpoint of, ‘I’m concerned about things like stopping the boats’ and these views actually registered…
“People would argue ‘we’ve been voting for that [reducing immigration] since 2010 and every twist and turn, we’re not being respected democratically.
“It’s been ripped up, thrown in people’s faces, essentially laughed at and smeared.

Bastani hit back to argue the failings on immigration are “squarely on the Conservative Party” and their lack of success on the matter was punished at the ballot box in the General Election just gone.
The protests, sparked by a crazed knife attack in Southport where three girls were killed, have turned into anti-immigration demonstrations.
Shops across the country have been boarded up and heavy police presences have been deployed in cities with another night of protest expected.
More than 100 planned protests across the country are expected on Wednesday night.
