Author Paul Embery has hit out against the "two-tier ruthlessness" of the police during the riots in the UK.

Over the last few weeks, protests and violent riots have erupted across parts of the UK following the deaths of three girls in a stabbing attack in Southport.

Amid the rioting, there have been accusations that the Prime Minister is presiding over "two-tier" policing in the UK.

Some argue, including Elon Musk, that the police are treating white Britons to a different standard than previous demonstrators like those who attended Black Lives Matter protests in 2020 or pro-Palestinian protests since October last year.

Embery commented on a video of Chief Constable Serena Kennedy Merseyside Police telling protests multiple times: "We are coming for you."

He said: "Have you ever heard a police officer be so threatening in their tone?

"Wouldn't it be nice if they took the same aggressive approach to, say, knife crime or burglary or vehicle theft or grooming gangs? This is two-tier ruthlessness."

Those who support the idea of two-tier policing also claim that the police fail to protect white people from crime, especially young girls from "grooming gangs" like the incident in Rotherham where a group of mostly Pakistani men abused some 1,400 children over 16 years.

Speaking after Spellow Library in Walton, Liverpool was set alight, Kennedy said: "What I would say to those people who think they've got away with being involved in the disorder on Tuesday or on Saturday, you absolutely haven't got away with it.

"We are coming for you. We've got hours of social media footage. We've got hours of CCTC footage.

"I've got officers working around the clock to identify who you are, where you live, where you work - we are coming for you."

On August 3, the library on County Road was looted as rioters threw fireworks at police officers and burned wheelie bins.

Kennedy continued: "We'll be coming for you the next few days, we'll be coming for you the next few months. So you might get to next week, you might be sitting with a cup of tea thinking you've got away with it. Please let me reassure you, you haven't got away with it.

"We are coming for you. You will feel the full force of the law."

On Thursday, two brothers who looted the community hub and library were jailed for their part in the violent disorder.

Adam Wharton, 28 was jailed for 20 months while his brother Ellis Wharton, 22, was jailed for 11 months.

After the disturbance settled at about 2 am on August 4, Adam Wharton acted as a lookout while his younger brother entered the Spellow Hub premises.

Ellis was caught removing a large computer monitor and when challenged struck an officer in the chest.
