International travellers coming to Scotland will now be able to take a lateral flow test instead of a PCR test on the second day after their arrival, Nicola Sturgeon has said.
The change was pushed for by the aviation sector and will align with changes in England which took effect earlier this month.
Travellers who are double vaccinated and travelling from countries not on the red list will be eligible for the lateral flow test change.
The change will take effect from 5pm on Friday and is expected to cost between £20 and £30 per test – less than for PCR tests.
She also has said that vaccination appointments for all 12 to 15-year-olds have been scheduled.

The First Minister told MSPs 53% of the age group have had their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
She said: “I can also provide an update on vaccination of young people. I mentioned earlier that 53% of 12 to 15-year-olds have now received their first jab.
“I can confirm that everyone in that age group has now had an appointment scheduled and should have received a letter telling them about that.
“I would again encourage all 12 to 15-year-olds not already vaccinated, and their parents and carers, to read the online information about vaccination so that they can take an informed decision about getting the jag.”
