MP Greg Smith has warned the Left are fueling division within society.

An MP has warned Pro-Palestinian marches in Britain are being increasingly infiltrated by the Left, further stoking division in British society.

Left-wing groups including trade unions have increasingly aligned themselves with Palestinians marches with messages, banners and slogans running alongside 'Free Palestine' messaging.

Tory MP Greg Smith lashed out at Far-Left and Left-wing activists who have ‘horrendous attitudes’ and are known for ‘hijacking’ protests on Britain’s streets.

The Conservative Party MP said that Trade Unions ‘continue to strike’ whilst equally engaging in ‘left wing protests’

He added: “It’s no surprise given that shift to find them (Trade Unions) propping up the hate marches.”

In recent months there have been numerous clashes between demonstrators and police at pro-Palestine marches across the country, with the most recent marches taking place across the Capital last weekend.

Several trade unions, some associated with the Labour party have said that they are ‘proud’ of the work the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign does and have previously called on the Government to reject previous proposals to ‘blacklist’ the group.

Tensions around the marches have been increasing in recent months with examples of hate speech in the latest major demonstration.

People were seen displaying a swastika inside a Star of David and other Nazi symbols were among the signs as tens of thousands of pro-Palestine protesters took to the streets of London on Saturday.

An increased number of flags associated with Left-wing action groups were also observed.

Officers had made 18 arrests as of 7pm on Saturday evening, following a “significant policing operation”. The Met did stress however the “overwhelming majority” of demonstrators had protested lawfully.

Speaking on the threat of antisemitism rising in the marches, Smith said: “All those engaging in antisemitism on the streets of London, need to face the full force of the law. And that is down to the Met to enforce.

“I have had some heartbreaking emails and correspondence from Jewish constituents, fearful for their safety and stripping all Jewish symbols from their homes and their persons. This is not fair and not right, in fact downright unacceptable.

“All our Jewish communities must be able to go about their lives, proud of their religion and identity - and the scourge of antisemitism must be wiped out from our country for good.”

Gary Mond, Chairman of the National Jewish Assembly, warned: "The police must show zero tolerance for any aspects of Jew hatred that materialise in this and all other marches.

“This means the display of swastikas and other anti-Jewish symbols, chants of ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ and anything that advocates for the genocide of Jewish people.”

“The Jewish population in the UK is resilient, has lived here for centuries, and will not be cowered by your vicious intimidation."
