Several commenters claimed this wasn't the first time they had witnessed the same vehicle parked inconsiderately at the location.

A local resident who witnessed the incident told Edinburgh Live: "I thought that driver was being incredibly selfish. The car park is so busy these days with Christmas just around the corner, and with fewer spaces available, someone parking across four spaces just seems unfair."

The witness added: "I'm not the best at parking myself, but if I couldn't manage to park properly, I wouldn't leave my car like that. I'd rather walk a little further than inconvenience so many people."

The resident's social media post about the incident quickly gained traction, with numerous locals sharing their own frustrations about the parking situation.

Among the social media responses, one resident suggested a playful solution: "Be a shame if two drivers parked sideways in front and behind them."

The incident sparked numerous humorous comments from other frustrated locals.

"Maybe someone should buy them a colouring book for Christmas since they clearly struggle with staying inside the lines," wrote one commenter.

Another local quipped: "Looks like they got their driving license out of a cereal box."

Some residents called for more direct action, with one commenting: "Yes, name and shame in future—although people like this just don't care about others."

The parking issue has been exacerbated by reduced space availability in the Tesco car park, with Christmas displays taking up several parking spots during the festive period.

Some locals speculated whether the driver might have been attempting to use disabled or family parking spaces, which are typically in high demand at the store.
