A man who was shot by police in a village in Surrey last week has died as a police watchdog launches an investigation into the circumstances of his death.
Officers descended on Nursery Road in Knaphill, Woking, just after midnight on Sunday, August 11, after receiving reports of an "armed altercation" in the street.
The man in his 20s was shot by armed officers at the scene.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition during the early hours of Sunday morning and died on Thursday.

Police added that the pair were known to each other, and said there is no risk to the wider public following the incident.
Following the shooting, the force referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) - a necessity due to the man's serious injuries.
The IOPC said an officer fired a single shot.

The man's next of kin have been informed about his death.
