Mark Francois MP has told GB News he wants an end to anonymity on social media as part of a 'David's law' in the wake of Sir David Amess' death last Friday.
The constituency neighbour to Sir David Amess was speaking to Nigel Farage on GB News in his first interview following the House of Commons paying tribute to Sir David this afternoon.
He told Nigel Farage: 'We now want David's law so that it will be illegal in future for people to go online under a cloak of anonymity and call people everything under the sun.'
Discussing the security of MPs, Mr Francois said a balance needed to be struck between elected representatives continuing their jobs, and how an appointment based system may deter constituents from seeking help in the first place.
He added that if MPs "had security in the bread aisle" in supermarkets, then "the bad guys start to win."
