"We are called the aggressors, but they are surrounding us," a man has claimed after he was surrounded by counter-protestors in Dover.
A group of counter-protestors surrounded a small group of anti-immigration demonstrators and started chanting "fascist scum" at them.
Officers formed a line between the two groups to protect the anti-immigration demonstrators as they clashed in Dover this afternoon.
Speaking to GB News, one of the demonstrators who was surrounded said: "There must be 50 police here now protecting four of us.

"It's because they want to attack us, and yet we're the ones that are being called the aggressors. We're the ones that are being called the fascists and the racists, and we're anything but.
"We are called far-right, I mean, what is far right today? You're either far left or you're far right. There's no middle ground anymore."

He explained: "I knew that they were coming down today, so I wanted to see the signs. I wanted to see the police's reactions to the signs.
"As you can see, there's four of us standing here. We put one British flag up, and they came in to attack.
"We've now got a line of police officers protecting us from the so-called tolerant, far left.
"We're standing up for our rights. I've got grandchildren and children that I am worried about. It's nothing to do with racism.

"As you can see, it's got nothing to do with fascism because we don't believe in a one state government. What we worry about is illegal immigration.
"Undocumented people coming into the country that is putting our children and our women and everyone at risk. It's got nothing to do with religion or race.
"It's about it's about standing up and wanting a better Britain."
According to Kent Online, the protestors were heard chanting: "Say it loud, say it clear, refugees are welcome here."
