GB News members are being asked whether they ever see a 'Bobby' on the beat

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is set to unveil a new plan to tackle street crime across Britain on Thursday.

The initiative aims to address shoplifting and antisocial behaviour which have "wreaked havoc on our neighbourhoods," according to the Prime Minister.

The announcement comes amid growing concerns about the lack of visible policing on streets, which is believed to be driving both minor offences and more serious crimes.

The Government's strategy will focus on restoring neighbourhood policing and creating a more visible police presence in communities.

The initiative aims to increase police visibility and create stronger connections between officers and the communities they serve.

Local officers will be identifiable by name to residents, making them more accountable and accessible to the public.

The plan will also ensure guaranteed police patrols during the busiest periods in town centres and identified "hotspot" areas.

This poll is now closed. See the full results below and continue to have your say in the comments.

In the exclusive poll for GB News membership readers, an overwhelming majority - 95 per cent - of the 1,145 voters say they don't ever see a ‘Bobby’ on the beat, while just 5 per cent say they do.
