The Ukrainian was reportedly charged with two counts of assault

Police are hunting for a Ukrainian refugee, who ran off with a British dad, after she failed to attend court.

A warrant has been issued for Sofiia Karkadym who allegedly attacked a police officer.

The 23-year-old was reportedly due to appear before magistrates in Bradford charged with two counts of assault.

It is claimed police were called to her ex-boyfriend Tony Garnett's home while Karkadym collected her belongings.

The Ukrainian refugee got together with Garnett just ten days after he and his partner of ten years Lorna welcomed her into their home they shared with their two children.

The mum said she was left feeling like the "third wheel" in her former relationship and "unwelcome in her own home".

Karkadym and Garnett moved out of the family home into a rented cottage after he left Lorna and their kids.

But Garnett dumped his new Ukrainian girlfriend just months later.

The security guard said they split after an argument in September while celebrating his 30th birthday.

However, the couple stayed in touch and he visited Karkadym in Ukraine to meet her family near Lviv before they returned to Yorkshire in December to rekindle the relationship.

After getting back together, Garnett told the Mirror: "I think we can make this work.

"She's a really attractive woman and always has interesting stuff to talk about. I want to know her much better and this time we will take things slower.

"She promised me she would never touch alcohol again and since that day I got to Ukraine to see her she hasn't touched any drink. And she hasn't back in Yorkshire either."

"I knew that it was very tough for her leaving her family and her country and arriving in Bradford and drink was something she turned to."

It appears the couple have split up once again, after Garnett revealed in February their relationship was "complicated".
