The man's injuries required intervention from crew and an on-board doctor

A flight from Thailand to the UK had to make an emergency landing after a passenger was found having attempted to kill himself in a cabin toilet, according to reports.

EVA Air BR67, travelling from Bangkok to London, was forced into an early landing at Heathrow Airport after staff noticed one of the bathrooms was still occupied.

Given passengers had been told to return to their seats for landing, crew went to investigate, and discovered the man inside.

The passenger was in a seriously distressed state when flight attendants entered the bathroom and had sustained injuries prompting both crew and a doctor on board to provide first aid.

The man's condition stabilised as a result of the crew's intervention and was taken to hospital soon after the flight touched down.

EVA Air, one of Taiwan's largest airlines, has confirmed the incident took place on March 15, the Sun reported.

While data from several flight tracking sites marks the flight down as having landed just over 20 minutes ahead of schedule at Heathrow.

The EVA Air BR67 flight travels from Taiwanese capital Taipei to London via Bangkok - a service the airline offers daily in both directions.
