Former Scotland Yard detective Peter Bleksley has furiously blasted "lawless Britain" after a horror knife attack took place in the capital this morning.
Two victims, an 11-year-old girl and a 34-year-old woman, were rushed to hospital after being stabbed in broad daylight in Leicester Square, London.
This has caused the ex-cop to claim that Britain's streets have been "surrendered to criminals."
He told GB News: "Here we go again, lawless Britain. The absolute epidemic of knife crime that plagues our nation.

He added: "Lawless Britain has it's shredded reputation shattered again."
The former police officer explained that he doesn't believe the "epidemic" to be a new thing on the streets of the UK but knife crime does appear to be increasing.
He explained: "I don't think it's a new phenomenon, but it's a growing scourge. It has only been two weeks since Southport and here we are again.
"Yet, Leicester Square is the centre of so much crime, pickpocketing, robbery, antisocial behaviour and much, much more.
Police have cordoned off the area

"Unfortunately it is largely left to private security companies to try and keep Leicester Square safe. It should be an area with a 24 hour police presence.
"We know thousands of police officers are elsewhere on standby for any other outbreaks of violent disorder arising.
"But even when they're not, this area is not regularly foot-patrolled by the police and is yet regrettably another example of the police in the UK surrendering the streets criminals."
In a statement the Met Police confirmed that a man has been arrested for the attack.

They also confirmed that the victims are now in the hospital.
GB News understands that the force believes this to be a non-terror-related incident.
This comes just weeks after the stabbing of three young girls in Southport, who were murdered whilst attending a Taylor Swift-themed dance class.
The tragic incident sparked violence and disorder on the streets of Britain after false information was spread regarding the suspect's background.
