Workers for a Free Palestine is targeting four sites nationally

A protest group is targeting factories across the UK to call for "an immediate, permanent ceasefire" in the Isreal and Gaza conflict.

Workers for a Free Palestine is targeting sites in Bournemouth, Lancashire, Brighton and Glasgow.


A spokesperson from the group said: "Over 1000 trade unionists at multiple sites across Britain are blockading arms factories that are supplying arms to Israel!

"Today trade unionists have shut down 4 sites in Britain which produce components for the F-35 fighter jet currently being used in Israel's bombardment of Gaza."

One of the sites targeted was in Wimborne, where banners were unveiled with the group chanting "Shame".

A spokesperson from the group said: "All three entrances to Eaton Mission Systems have been SHUT DOWN!

"The company an open export licence to export goods for the F-35 aircraft.

"The factory currently being blockaded makes the F-35's in-flight refuelling probe at its facility in Wimborne."

The group also claimed that counterparts in mainland Europe in France, the Netherlands and Denmark are performing similar action.

They said they wanted: "An end to the British government's complicity in Israel's war crimes, including through arms sales, an immediate, permanent ceasefire [and] an end to the occupation of Palestine."

One of the other sites targeted was the Samlesbury Aerodrome in Lancashire, where they claimed the "rear fuselage of every F-35 fighter jet, currently being used in the bombardment of Gaza, is made by BAE Systems at this site."

In Glasgow, the protesters are targeting the BAE Govan site, which the group said: "produces components of the F-35 stealth aircrafts and the Mk 38 Mod 2 machine gun system."

A spokesperson from the group said: "Workers across Britain are refusing to stay silent whilst genocide is committed with arms produced on our doorsteps.

"We demand an end to British complicity in war crimes!"

Meanwhile, Brighton & Hove Action for Palestine is currently targeting the ‘L3Harris Release & Integrated Solutions Ltd’ factory based in Brighton & Hove.

The group are chanting "No bombs from Brighton" and "Ceasefire now".
