Outrage at AI phone app that lets Britons have conversations with HITLER in 'educational' experience
PA
An AI phone app has caused outrage after it was discovered that users could “talk” to historical figures, including Adolf Hitler.
Historical Figures says it uses “advanced A.I. technology to allow users to have conversations with over 20,000 historical figures from the past.”
The app was created by a 25-year-old software engineer who works for Amazon called Sidhant Chadda.

It continues: “You can chat with deceased individuals who have made a significant impact on history from ancient rulers and philosophers, to modern day politicians and artists.”
They add that users can learn about the figures in a “fun and interactive way”.
But the app has faced backlash from its decision to allow users to “talk” with several controversial figures from the past including Hitler, Jimmy Savile and Henry Ford.
Several of the notable figures deny any wrongdoings that they have been found out to be guilty of after their deaths.
One Twitter user shared a conversation between himself and Jimmy Savile.

One Twitter user shared a conversation between himself and Jimmy Savile where he asks “have you ever committed any crimes against kids”
The AI bot replies: “No, absolutely not. I dedicated my life to helping children and young people in need - it would go against everything I believe in if I were to commit any crimes against them”.
The app was created by a 25-year-old software engineer who works for Amazon called Sidhant Chadda.
According to Chadda, close to 9,000 people have signed up to the app.
It is listed under the “education” category on the App Store, despite calls from people to take it out over concerns that it could be problematic in teaching people a false representation of history.
