Residents have been left furious after a local council painted fresh road markings over potholes without actually filling them in.
North Northamptonshire Council has been slammed by locals over the self-proclaimed "shoddy" work on Pytchley Road, that saw potholes painted over, without them being filled in.
Local resident Kevin Mervin, 57, noticed that the potholes on Pytchley Road had lines painted over them without being filled in.
He said he "couldn't believe" that all they had done was put white paint over the potholes.

Mervin accused the council of not caring and that the potholes will just "stay there".
The 57-year-old, who works in the trucking industry, slammed the council: "They cannot be serious – how on earth could the council do this?”
North Northamptonshire Council admitted the work was "shoddy" and "unsatisfactory".
Jason Smithers, leader of the council, told GB News: "This work is not at all acceptable and there’s no way that this should be happening.

“We have immediately picked this up with our contractor who will be carrying out work to fill the potholes and repaint the road markings at no additional cost to the taxpayer.
“We have demanded – and received assurances – that their processes will be reviewed to ensure this shoddy work is not repeated.
“This is unsatisfactory and quite frankly our residents deserve more.”
This comes as a pothole campaigner has slammed the government for not doing enough enough as the damage to roads reaches a record high.

In October 2023, the government announced it would provide £8.3billion of extra funding for local road improvements.
Mark Morrell, who has been dubbed as Mr. Pothole, claimed that this will "only resurface 2.5 per cent" of the roads in the UK.
Speaking to GB News Breakfast the UK's best-known pothole campaigner said: "We have gone past breaking point, you can see that by the state of the roads.
"Over 20 per cent of roads need major investment and resurfacing now. If we don't do anything in the next 15 years, 53 per cent of our road network will be structurally unsound and therefore it could potentially be lethal for cyclists and those on two wheels."
