Nicola Bulley: Psychic who found body claims his 'gift' helped him locate missing mum

A spiritual medium claimed he used his “gift” to find the body of Nicola Bulley in the River Wyre.
Jason Rothwell, a self-described “spiritual medium, psychic and tarot reader” took to social media to share a post revealing that he and a friend had found the missing mum-of-two.
The 45-year-old was found 23 days after she vanished less than a mile from where she was last seen.
She had been walking her dog in St Michael’s on Wyre after dropping her daughters, aged six and nine, at school on January 27.

Rothwell said he had helped to recover Michael Brooks, 19, who was found in the River Ribble in Penwortham, Lancashire, following a two-week search.
He said: “Having previously assisted in the recovery of Michael Brooks, I decided to use whatever “gift” it is we mediums possess to try and locate Nicola Bulley.
“As has obviously become apparent, yes it is myself in the images in the media currently circulating relating to the case of Nicola Bulley.
“And yes yesterday morning it was myself and a friend who reported and assisted the police in the recovery of a body from the river.”
He thanked Lancashire Police for their “help, support and the open mindedness with which they dealt with us, following our call, spiritualists or mediums are obviously not something the police come across every day and I appreciate the respect given to us both”.
Officers were called to the River Wyre close to Rawcliffe Road at around 11.35am on Sunday.
Nicola's body was found on a stretch of the river just past a slight bend - around a mile outside the village - close to where a tree had fallen on its side.
The area was cordoned off while police divers recovered her body.

Rothwell said Nicola’s family had not asked him to help with the search but felt compelled to take action by the “wild speculation and hurtful commentary” going on following her disappearance.
He said he put out his statement after online sleuths revealed his identity on YouTube and TikTok.
The psychic added his "thoughts and prayers" were with Nicola's family, friends and loved ones.
He continued: “And I do hope, that if it is indeed Nicola, they can find some peace with this.”
